Saturday

So week #1 is over. English made it suck. Papers every day. And now another due Monday. But I like the people in my FIG. Today we did the downtown scavenger hunt. I think my group did pretty well since the other group got tired and left.

Angela and I checked out the cafe in the art building, pretty good. And I made friends with this girl named Melissa in my FIG. We do share a few things in common. On Friday, it was so wierd, we ended up on the HUB lawn after class, and then David, Penny, and Angie all passed by. Penny beat me getting a tragus piercing! When I asked her when she got it she was like, well I was studying late and this place on the Ave was open till 11 so I went..I was like no way!

But yea, Melissa got to meet David and Angie. We all sat in the HUB, and David went on about feminism and something about the bible. He seems to know what he's talking about. That dude cracks me up. He's trying to start a Males for Feminism club. Thankfully Melissa didn't get scared by him, she actually said he reminded her of her friends, and so that was kinda nice and familiar. Now he's gotta do that magic card trick with the burning, I never got to shoot.

Yesterday I guess another adult like move-I got a checking account. Whoo! I'm just excited to not have to be at the bank when it's open to get moolah, which is like not when I'm free. And I think I'm going to get Disney princess checks!

FYI don't go see X-Men 3, it sucks.

Overall I'd say things are going pretty well. Yup..

Summers over.....no!

Well it's Sunday night, and yes I'm doing homework. What a great way to start college. Anyways..so I'm a college girl fo sho now.

Wednesday was day numbero uno. And I'll be very honest, I didn't really like it. Not hate it, just I dunno, the first bite by reality that I'm seriously out of high school. Thursday and Friday were better, I think I really like my Bio Anthro class. English is okay, and Intro to Globalization I think will be interesting. Oh yea, there's only like 700 people in that class. But as Angela says, it's nice to disappear. I've been hanging out with her and Jenna.

So it was so wierd the first day! George Plumis and Otis were on the bus, then I get off and Corrina was there. Then we sat down and saw Gabe walk by. Then at lunch Jenna and I were in front of the HUB, (where lotsa stuff is, including one mass of places to eat) and saw Angela, and Chui met up with us. Inside we see Julie and David K. In the Globalization class JP, Lars Phillips, and Keyan are in it too. Talk about "I thought I'd never see anyone from Ballard on campus".

I think I need to join a club or something to make my life at UW worthy. Oh yea, trying to pursue that library job. David is too, maybe we'll work together? Haha. Like I can see myself working at a library. But I'd definitely don't mind getting paid to study.

Tommorow is Monday. AKA it sucks hexxa.

Happy October. (already!!!)

Been A Star Of Many Plays

Sorry I haven't updated lately guys. But it's been a pretty good weekend.

A few days ago when I was going to the library I saw Whitney and her mom walking. I waved. It was good to see her, haha. I hope I can see her before she leaves.

Friday night was the Elton John concert. I figured out dinner at Racha Noodle, a Thai restaurant I think my parents liked. I held the urge to run across the street to Easy Street. I miss my Easy Street buddy! We headed over to the Key Arena where the people made me throwout my leftover food. Saw David and Sean in line up ahead. Turns out my dad got the highest seats in the section we were sitting in. I was kinda upset when I saw how far away we were, but he said it was either this or a side seat 4 minutes after they went on sale. Whoa. But Elton John came out and it was awesome cause they've got screens and we had binoculars. I recognized some songs like Crocodile Rock, Tiny Dancer, Daniel, Saturday Night's Alright(For Fighting), Rocket Man, Don't Let The Sun Go Down on Me (minus George Michael), Bennie and the Jets, and I Guess That's Why They Call It the Blues. Sadly no Lion King, or Candle in the Wind or Blessed, some of my faves. But the rocker guitarist with the long blonde hair, sunglasses and jeans tucked into boots cracked me up enough. It's Elton John, and he's amazing.

I was so happy to get my mom out of the house. She really needed it. Unfortunately our moods turned sour when lo and behold when we got to the car it was dead. So we called my uncle who drove us home, and on the way back we found out there was a police chase and this crazy woman hit a police car into Matt's Hot Dogs. But anyways, I helped my dad with a new skill he taught me. He drove the truck back to the car and tied it to the back of the truck. I basically steered the car home, braking on hills and turning while he towed. It just sucked cause there was no lights, no radio, and no heat. I made faces at people who were driving by. The only wierd part is no shifting since the car's not on. And the jerking when going uphill. It was kinda fun actually.

Saturday I hung out with Reilly since she was back in town. We went shopping at N-Gate. The parking garage is going up, so parking sucked. I got a henley and a kinda shimmery gold tank top at Express. Had dinner at Red Robin, I was so proud of myself I ate my entire burger and fries! And all of the milkshake and a half.

Today I headed down to UW for the Freshman Kickoff where everyone met their FIGs, got into a huge W and took a picture and kinda went over that University class. Actually it was wierd, behind me in the bleachers Eshsan (sp?) was sitting. Next Monday is a scavenger hunt downtown, I'm actually excited. I'm the only one from Seattle, but there's people from Redmond, Kenmore, other parts of Washington and a couple from LA. And I kinda befriended Tiffany, and girl from Hawaii. I know! She's really nice. I'm glad I connected with someone. Jenna and I went out to Pagliacci's. It was so good that soda and pizza. Believe it or not, it was burning up today. I just took a shower, so I feel bettah.

Well I'm gonna go get some H2O......PEACE!

Hate To Say I Told You So

I feel better since I've updated my actual journal. And then there's this. Nothing really exciting except last night.

Ian and Carolee came over and Ian and I unfortunately got Carolee addicted to Lost. Whoops..oh well..haha. I've just realized that I don't have much free time left. I'm working another day this week, finish the other 5 Lost discs, then the Elton John concert..and then I give my life to school. Sweet. I really need to go shopping. Meh...

I better go take a shower...tty'all lata.

One rainay day.

Well, before today I had no idea what rain was like. Just kidding people. It sucks because it's like a reminder or preview of what the fall and winter are gonna be. Overcast, rainy and cold. But really, it makes me appreciate the sunny days we do have. And plus it never gets extremely hot or cold. Thankfully I've got the first season of Smallville to keep me company. And some pilates workouts that having been calling my name for a month, and I've just ignored the calls. I don't think this crew thang is gonna go down.

Yesterday Penny and I went to do errands and drop some serious dough. We bought tickets to a Citizen Cope show next month.

I went through the college textbook buying experience and- ouch. I paid $70 for a gently used non-higlighted anthropology book. New- 90 buckaroos. Honestly? That's nothin, psssh. Penny had the only choice of a new book at $115. Ha. I got that like petty cash. Some classes she was taking looked really interesting. It kinda inspired me to want to take some of those psycology and sociology classes. Something wierd and fun.

As if we didn't have more money to get rid of we went to Easy Street and we got cds. I got the Step Up soundtrack since it was "used" but heck didn't look like it'd ever been touched before. Jenna, Amanda, Kayla and I went to go see that last Saturday. I'll admite: I was skeptical because everyone was saying how it was just a copy of Save the Last Dance. Not that I like that movie anyways but..it was pretty good. It made me wanna dance. Afterwards we were all like..let's get the soundtrack! But yea...one step closer to a free cd! I'll have to get one that's like 437 dollars.

Doing something I'm addicted to...

Yes! YES! I'll soon be recieving my copy of the second season of Lost. My parents think I'm crazy. I agree. I'm just really excited to watch it-Ian and I are going to be the fat kids we are and have an extreme Lost marathon and eat junk food.

I got to hang out with ma cousine, Penny. We went to U-Village. Penny was gonna get a new iPod, but turns out hers kinda works. I was gonna talk to someone because somehow I've got these scratches on my screen, and I am dying to get rid of them. I got scrapbook stuff from this one store..but they have got like the cutest paper!! And glittery stickers..exciting. I'm trying to create my graduation page since it's the easiest project and I've got my materials. Tried a chocolate bagel..actually kinda good but I mean its Noahs, so its automatically awesome. Almost got into a couple accidents--not my fault! It's cause we don't have a working horn which is really dangerous. I needed a dang airhorn. Make everyone hate me. People are idiots.

So we were at Sephora and talking to this one girl who works there, and it is possible Penny and I may get a part time job stocking there. Which is great for me, since there is no customer interaction or serious training. And free full size makeup! I'm so down for that. I talked to my mom, and its a possibilty.

It was nice to go sit with Penny and have our mochas and truffles. Chocolate overload= pretty much heaven.

Bumbershoot 2006

Finally I made it to Bumbershoot yesterday..just in time to get to Spoon, and meet up with Reilly and Angie. Reilly and I kept attempting to take pictures, some of which are below. Thankfully she's tall and helped me take pics. It was funny, there was an "interpreter" for one of the songs since the band wanted everyone to understand what they were saying..the guy ran around stage and at one point mooned the audience. At the end the dummer threw his drumstick out to the audience, but unfortunately it wasn't near me. Danggit! I love Spoon! Even though I'm getting the CD from the library, I think I'm going to buy it. The singer had a slight accent, and is cute. My dad made jokes if there was a group called Forks, and "Knives just didn't make it.."

When that was over I got my token for the evening shows- Kanye West and Blue Scholars. We met up with Reilly's friend Ashley and then we split up to get food which we ate at the fountain where all the kids play. We decided to go back to Reilly's since we didn't see anything cool for a few hours. Angie and Ashley left, and Reilly and I went back where it was freaking nuts. All "tickets" for the evening shows were sold out. The sign also said "There are plenty of other great shows! I was like yea RIGHT! We ran in the mass of continous people coming into the mainstage. As you can tell, there's a ton of people. 23,000 to be exact. I tried to get a photo of the packed bleachers on both sides, but well, I have sucky camera. It was also hard to get a pic of Kanye. But we were a bit far from the stage, on the right side of the soundbooth, and he kept running around stage. I really did see him!

Okay, the photos ain't loading no more, so I'll post my so-so pics lata. Plus if I can post videos that'd be awesome.

"Now I ain't sayin she a golddigger.."%2</div

What I didn't do today

So today was crap. I have the worst cramps of all time. I felt like I was gonna throw up, and unfortunately I stayed home from Bumbershoot. So now I gotta sell that ticket (craig's list). But I took my mom out to Bartell's and the library since she was going crazy from boredom (Mike and Steph aren't at home till Sunday..it's kinda nice and quiet). I got possible prom scrapbook supplies, which my mom and I are going to work on sometime soon.

But thankfully yesterday I got a stool from Ikea so I'm not killing my back using the laptop on my side table. I've decided I'm to get a house and Ikea it. I saw this one room they had, green theme, very gorgeous! However, I was thinking what an awesome idea to play a major game of hide and seek in Ikea?! Oh dude. It's goin down...

I can't believe how freakin ridiculous I am, I'm now getting into this buying stuff online. I used to detest it with a passion. But seriously you can get CDs, DVDs, games and other things so cheaper. Plus it's not like clothing you gotta try on. One word: Amazon. Which helllo, another company that started here! (Just found that out) Anyways, I've realized I'm totally obssessed with Superman Returns, I haven't been obsessed with a movie since..haha Batman Begins. Notice a trend? It's kinda frustrating when you want to buy posters that are 29x36 when your walls are not that spacious to begin with. Isn't there like a small size in posters? I'm just printing everything out with our nice photo paper. 8 1/2x 11 baby!

If you'll excuse me, I've got some Sour Patch Kids calling my name...peace homies.

Official US Vota. What now? And football knowledged.

So exciting news came in my mail yesterday. I got my paycheck (always welcomed) and my first ballot! Its cool, but I need to research because I pretty much don't know anything about anyone. Heh.

Went to Woody's, ate food, saw people. Won a couple games of Nertz. Then left, said my goodbye to Woody, and headed to the Seahawks game. It was my first ever, and it was loud and nuts. But I must say, I'd rather go to a game than watch it on TV. I'd go with a bunch of games and just scream. But I was with my Aunt and Uncle, 6 rows from the field. Dad and Mike eventually came down from their high seats. They're into football, and my Aunt explained lotsa things to me. I guess I knew but never realized how much Seattle fans are into football, the 12th man and all that.

(Lots of noise, screaming.) Me: What happened?

Shows how awesome I am in the knowledge of football. I know Shawn Alexander and Matt Hasselback. And you throw the football. Yup. But now I know about first downs, which you want, its going the first 10 yards. I am a much better person now that I know more about football.

Oh vey. I've been saying that a lot.

I love how even though it's summer and I have no serious obligations as constant as school, I still slack off on everything. Like the book for English which I'm only 1/3 done. But as of yesterday I still have a month of summer to enjoy.

It's like a curse and a blessing of how late I start. It gives me more time of sleeping in and stuff like that, but still everyone leaves me! Eh, whatcha gonna do. For the past few weeks I've been a little angry with myself not seeing all of my friends more. I just get so laaazy and feel like they'll be too busy or whatever.

But for better news..

*My dad is in the process of creating a fire pit in our backyard. And so in the process, another distraction in my house.

*Also right now we're pet-sitting our neighboor's rabbit, Pinto. A cute fuzzypants.

*Thanks to Penny my music collection is expanding.

*I saw Superman on IMAX again last night. I loooove that movie. (But then I saw Fantastic Four, which sucked!)

And so it begins..

So I've decided to create this blog to have some kind of way to let all my friends know how I'm doing and to hopefully keep in touch. It's a quick mass comunicator, I guess.

Anyways, already some good friends have departed off for their journey into college. It's still crazy, but somehow not that we are going out into the world. I'm thinking about how everyone is doing and if they will keep in touch and whatnot. My cousin told me that this is the time where you find out who your true friends are. Not that I will lost faith in everyone, but I thought that was..well..a scary thought.

I thought I would miss high school so much and all the people that came with it. But, part of me is glad it's all over. But part of me isn't..all the football games, the cram studying for Genetics, the lunches in the AC, hanging out after school, the closeness of friends. I feel ready for this new school and life. I'm actually embracing it. I don't care anymore that I'm not going out of state. Especially how my life is now at home, I couldn't do it. Everyone says how much they love it here, but it would get boring or whatever. I disagree. There's so much to explore here, and I just don't think I could get sick of Seattle.
