Sickness...blahhh

For the first time in a long time, I may be getting sick. It sucks. My throat kinda hurts. I hope I actually don't get sick though. Now it's actually getting to be like real Seattle fall. Still sunny sometimes at least.

But I've signed up for next quarter's classes. Its messy looking. Lots of chem stuff. Not cool! But gotta be done.

I saw Quantum of Solace last night, sweet movie. Actually at Lincoln Square, in Bellevue with those nice leather seats I kept hearing about. It was nice, my butt actually didn't hurt after sitting in them forever.

I'm trying to cook more, since it would probably help out in the house. Made some tortellini with garlic cream sauce. Not too bad. Kinda rich though.

At work today I got peeved cause I heard x-mas music. I mean, already?! It's a couple weeks before Thanksgiving. Sometimes I can't believe this society...ug.

On to bio studying-later!

Tout Doucement

Hey hey hey all.

Last week was a bust. I barely got any studying done what with my ADD. But I got cracking today which was good. Attended a Pre-Health Expo and saw a panel of UW med students. I feel much better now that I have decided to take a year off after graduation to get my stuff together and do whatever I want while I'm young before I spend the next seven years of my life furthuring my career. But I've gotten really excited about my decision and I'm trying my best to bring up my GPA, which is my main focus right now. And finding a doctor to shadow. What else is going on...

Huh. Well not much. I forgot I have Tuesday off. But I'll be working and babysitting, making money which is always good right?

Well, I got a new snowboard which is tight cause man are they expensive brand new. It's not like the best ever but it was cheap and its in better condition than the one I had. I really hope I can get a couple buddies and go up with just friends this year to Stevens. That'd be tight.

Hope everyone is enjoying their travels around the world. I'm waiting for you guys to come home!

Fuzzy Hat

The title of this stems from the warm knit hat I'm wearing. I bought it quite some time ago and am finally wearing it.

So what have I been up to? Well..school is the main thing. I have an O-chem midterm on Halloween. Kinda anti-climatic but then I'm not even going to do anything. Everyone says I should go out, but I kinda don't have anything to do...I will probably study, how lame am I! But I am trying to really do well in school, like uber good. Cause man it ain't easy.

I have gone for two 15 minute runs this week! It's amazing. Except my calves hurt so bad cause I'm so outta shape. And now I have proper workout wear so I have no excuse. The hoodie I got is sooo nice, it keeps me warm and it's reversible! Although it was rather expensive...but I figure it's an investment since I'll wear it a ton anyways.

In other exciting news (hah) I made cupcakes with peanut butter frosting. They were bomb.com.. I really want to cook more, I actually like it but never know anything cool to make. Hopefully I can cook like my mom someday and just make amazing things like she does by just "throwing this in, and throwing that in..".

Alright..gonna go study so I can watch the Office! I heart Jim. :)

Wonderful Elektrik

I think I am back into the swing of school. It feels better than it did. I can't complain too much when I'm done at 12:30 two days, out at 9:30 (yes, AM) on Friday and only have to stay late twice. And having had some late classes, 4:50 isn't bad. Considering we get out at 4:30 a lot. Ahh..I keep trying to sit up straight. My back hurts a little. Gotta do some more Wii exercises I guess! haha..

Already there's a bio exam next Monday. On like 2 weeks of material.

Bio lab was cool, I didn't get too grossed out. Maybe cause there was no formaldehyde smell. I helped take the skin off a frog leg. Sorry if that's TMI. Next week is pig heart dissection, which is really close to a human heart. Lots of cutting up!

Alright, I'm going to go learn about circulatory stuff..I finally understand what the heck a blood pressure exactly is. I know, sad.

Please, check this website out. It is SO FUNNY!! yearbookyourself.com

First Day of Fall

And now the weather matches the season. Bahh..I already miss the sun and stuff. I was really hoping it would hold out for a little bit longer. School starts in two days and I'm not sure if I'm ready to give up my summer yet. Oh, I don't think I've mentioned that I've been volunteering at the UW Medical Center. It's an awesome job, I love it. To be honest I didn't think I would, since I've been apprehensive about hospitals and sickness. But now I'm really thinking that I want to be a doctor. I've got an MCAT study book from the library and I'm already looking over it. I haven't really said much to anyone because I didn't think I was fully committed- but it feels good to finally have chosen a career path. Everyone at the hospital is so nice.

Another decision I've made: I am going to travel next year. A lot. I'm tired of trying to make plans to go somewhere that eventually fall through. I just gotta commit and drive down to Portland or Cali or something. Europe? I sure hope so! That's the big plan.

Saw Burn After Reading yesterday. It was funny, kind of a black comedy. I say it's worth seeing once. Oh man, Brad Pitt was pretty hilarious in it, that's for sure. And suprisingly other movies I liked were Tropic Thunder and Pineapple Express. Okay, Tropic Thunder was a little intense but I still liked it more than I thought I would. All I gotta say is..Tom Cruise (shaking my head).
And since I'm talking about things to see, another series I got into: Arrested Development. It's SO funnay!! I don't know why it got canceled (well I do but you know what I mean). It's def different and I can't get enough of how messed up that family is.

Alrighty, my tummy is hungry and I gotta get some food!

Bliss

I dunno if anyone is still reading this but I'll make a post anyways. Lots has happened since May. I have done summer quarter and am finally getting my summer break. I met a group of awesome people in my bio class and we've already hung out a couple times since school got out. We even went hiking a couple days ago. My calves are still hurting. But its that good kind of sore, ya know? I've been working as much as possible, I really need the money. I'm trying to see all my friends before school starts up, at least the ones who haven't left already for exotic places. I could have been in Cyprus now, but I've learned to be like okay, fine, it's cool. Next year? Who knows...hopefully before I get old.

Uh, went to Bumbershoot. I honestly can't wait till everyone can actually come and we can go together after college. It didn't look like I was gonna make the mainstage night show, but I got really lucky and a guy was giving away one pass so I was like score! Finally I got a Spoon poster at flatstock. It's pretty awesome, btw.

What else..oh! My brother finally started high school and the french teacher def remembers me. I gotta go back and visit Moody. Ah, which reminds me I got organic chem in the fall. Ef.

The weathers been nice today, really weird but I won't complain too much, I love it. Especially since right after I got out of summer quarter the weather just was terrible.

I'm trying out this salt and pepper popcorn my coworker gave me, very interesting...hmmm..

Remember the weight of the world..

So I thought I'd let all you chicas out there know about this series I just discovered, called the Twilight Saga. Yes, its a young adult novel and yes, it is about vampires. But don't leave yet..I gotta stop judging things so quickly! The first book came out in 2005, and I have seen it around but I just didn't sound intrigued, a vampire love story? Uh, cool I guess..BUT! This is how good I think it is- I bought it Saturday, started it that night and finished it in the early wee hours of Monday. I could not put it down, it was soo good! I highly recommend it if anyone's looking for something different (and like love stories of course). It's about this girl who moves to Forks, Washington (yes, this state) which is apparently the rainiest place in the US- to live with her dad. And she notices this group of kids in the lunchroom sitting by themselves, and they turn out to be adopted siblings..and she gets this crush on one of the guys. She finds out that he's Edward Cullen, and she ends up as his lab partner in Biology. Bella (the girl) finds out there's something interesting about Edward, which is he is a vampire! And they're not like vampires you typically think of, who have fangs and don't go out in the day and sleep in coffins. I won't say anymore, you'll have to read. It was just different and fun and cute all in one. You just want to keep reading and get to know the characters. It does seem a little repetitive sometimes and Bella does get a little annoying with her Edward obsession. But hey, it's teenage love. And the movie is coming out in December, I will be dragging some poor soul with me..not the day it comes out, that's probably when all the tweens will run out to see it. I'm already going to order the next two books. :)

But that's my book blab. I just haven't found a series that I've loved so much for a couple years now. I miss books! I hadn't been to BN for a while.

In other news, still slowly progressively moving stuff downstairs. I'm constantly amazing by how much stuff I have. I found all these pictures of family and friends over the years and they're so funny to look at! Vacations and last days of school or hanging out...good times.

But yeah, waiting patiently for friends to come home, Folklife, et cetera. Trying to focus on chem and math, the gen series almost over!

Cyprus/London plans are kinda unknown, it seems like everyone will be busy with the wedding and I just don't want to be a burden. But we shall see, it may still happen and if not...there's always next year!

By the way, if any of you like Spoon I have to recommend this video with Brett playing "I Summon You" acoustic in a cab. I love Brett! There's this thing called Black Cab Sessions where indie artists play uncut versions of their songs in cabs in London and they're recorded. This one is pretty good, check it out! http://youtube.com/watch?v=X-r0BiEuC3M

Sun!!!

Finally finally its sunny! :) been waiting for evah for some sunshine...
So this weekend is nice, midterms are over, nothing extreme due for a week. Ahh.

But Sunday is Easter and I'm exciting, friends and food and some deece food. I can't do this vegan thing much longer. I want some chocolate too...

Hm, what else? Oh yea I moved downstairs. Still moving all my stuff down. I have a lot of stuff that I fit in my little "closet"! Steph was buggin me to just move everything. I just gotta figure where everything goes.

And yesterday I declared my major: Biology-Cellular, Molecular and Developmental. I think I'm gonna go to the career center so I can go figure out what I want to do with my life (aka pre-med or not).

Well I'm gonna go out in the sun since it probably won't last!

Excursion? Maybe.

Possibly exciting news. Possibly because it may not happen. But it may!

So, my cousin is getting married this year, and we all thought it was gonna be in October. But it turns out its gonna be on September 20th. School starts the 24th. My uncle called my dad yesterday and I might might might get to go to the wedding in Cyprus! Ahhh that'd be so cool. And spend a couple days in London too (shopping=AMAZING). But in Cyprus there's so many people- my family, friends and my godparents.

I'm going to see if Penny and my uncle can come too. It's a maybe for them too, it is a lot of money. Of course I've already checked up on the airfare...about 1500 $ roundtrip. However I'd be staying with someone, so pretty much all expenses are taken care of except for maybe shopping and going out. Over there in September it'll be about 80 degrees, really nice. I'd have to leave right after the wedding since I get to London or if I switch planes I'd have to wait until the next day. So I'll probably be a little screwed up the first day of school. But now that I'm in college, I'm hoping since I never sleep anyways maybe the 10hr time difference won't matter that much anyways! I can never sleep on the plane for some reason.

I'm just really happy about this...my dad's all well someone should be there, you only get married once...

The nice thing is I think they'd be willing to chip in for the airfare. I will certainly contribute, working whenever I can. I'm guessing with summer quarter and how restricted I am by school now I could come up with 700ish $? Who knows. This is about 3/4 of a quarter's tuition. Me taking a summer class doesn't help. But yeah..I'm dreaming.

Well, I think a decision will be made soon so we can snag good airfare prices. I'll let you guys know. :)

Spring...ha ha.

It's "spring" apparently. That's a good joke, because just a couple days ago it was snowing/raining/hailing? Ug, can't we get some good weather? Haven't we suffered through six months of winter weather?

Well it is just two days into the quarter. Break went by fast, as usual. Vancouver was fun, but next time will be even better! It was Easter (or white Easter as MA called it) plus a Sunday so most stuff was closed, but we had a good dinner. Room wasn't that bad either. It was nice being on vacay w/o the fam, the drive up didn't seem long at all. But it was nice to see them back from Mehico. I worked a lot, and when I wasn't working I saw lotsa people. When I wasn't doing either of those things I was watching the third season of Alias or sleeping away my life. I unfortunatly got addicted to that show! It's so good, and I've been meaning on watching it for a while but just hadn't had any time.

I've hopped back into the last gen chem class in the series. I feel so behind, with all these freshman around me. But it'll be alright, I plan on really studying to catch up as the last gen chem class was last summer!

Let's see...what else..

Antcipating going to Ikea and getting lots of furniture. I have most things planned out. I found this really cool shoe storage thing that's in the shape of a wheel and you put all your shoes in it. I don't have a million pairs of shoes but it looks like such an awesome idea.

My goal these next two and a half months is to focus really hard, this will seriously be my last math class. And last gen chem...which means o chem next year! That is a scary idea. Everyone will be coming home in a couple months and then summer.

Yes I am doing summer quarter again. It's just the only thing that works. Starting next year the classes will be less than five credits, but unfortunatly that doesn't mean they're easy...so this ensures I will graduate in four years. It seems that a lot of my homies are going to be gone anyways. Plus I'm looking into volunteer either at UWMC or Children's. Something to help me get my foot in the door, as they say. (Whoever "they" is!)

math is finito!

YAY! Done with math. Just finished the final an hour and a half ago. Now I'm doing chores around the house, cleaning up. Being responsible. :) I'm going to chill out for an hour or so then hit the books again for bio next Thursday! I want to do supergood on that exam. Like amazing. I'm contemplating what to make for lunch. My mom gave me money for food but I'm trying to save it for Canada. I do need to get milk soon though. I made waffles this morning for Penny and I but used up one of the two cartons they left me. Pasta? yummy...

Spring break is oh so close, yet oh so far..

March March March..

Wow. Really sorry haven't update in like a month. Things got nutso. And its already almost finals! Yikes...I'm kinda chillin today, before I ramp up for finals (midterms were this week). I went shopping with Steph, and to a baptism. Now I'm getting into the show Alias which I got from the library. It's pretty good so far, but I'm trying not to get super sucked into it.

So plans are final, I'm heading up to Canada during Spring Break with two of my good Greek friends. We're just going to stay the night, go out, have dinner and little fun, maybe shopping. I'm so pumped, I haven't been on a trip outside Seattle with just my friends before. The rest of the fam's headed to Cabo San Lucas, it's a family friend's timeshare, and that's the only time avaliable. I can't go because it's during finals which are immovable. I'm okay with that as Mexico isn't first on my list of destinations. Europe first! So Penny is going to stay with me, since my mom's all nervous about me staying home alone. I don't mind being alone (to study) but it's hard making food for one person. I might work a bit too, so I don't go insane.

Pledge to buy Handmade.

I'm sure you all will notice the new link just above these posts for etsy. They are thumbnails of my favorites. Okay, seriously you guys gotta check this site out. It's aMAZING! Everything is handmade by people all over the world, and there is some cool and crazy stuff on there. For example, I'm planning (when it comes back in stock) to get this print of a painting an artist did of Jim from the Office. This artists's online shop is filled with paintings of famous characters and movie scenes, such as from Breakfast at Tiffany's (I really want one of those too!) or Little Miss Sunshine, and there's also portraits of charcters from Lost and The Office. But yeah, I could spend hours on etsy. Its really fun to look at stuff. Go get addicted like me! And there's this cotton American Apparel screenprinted t-shirt dress (I know, I said I didn't like American Apparel but its cute- and well, kind of handmade). Then there's this cute pendant that says I love you in all these languages- even Greek!

But yeah, anyways its cold and dreary as ever in Sea Town. I can't wait till it gets warmer. I really love living in Seattle, I guess I appreciate the warmer days more.

So I think that's everything that's exciting in my life right now...I think I'm going to go be a little ahead for once and do some bio reading. Laterz!

Second Chapter

I just read the Heath Ledger passed away. I had to read it about three times because I am completely blown away- he was still young. I couldn't wait to see his portrayal of the Joker in the next Batman film.

Anyways, getting into gear for midterms next week. This weekend Grace and I went to Build A Bear (I know, we're old but hey I've always wanted to go). I hesitated at first but then agreed to do it. I got this cute "Milk Chocolate Cub" and she (her name is Audrey) got a little UW tee. I got to help stuff it and put in the heart and make a wish..haha. I contemplated getting the Ariel outfit, but it was kinda expensive....maybe later :) She's so cute! I got the box you see people from Build A Bear carrying, I felt like a nerd but a good nerd carrying around my teddy I made. I showed Stephanie and she told me she'd also always wanted to do it. So check off one thing I've wanted to do. Only a million more things to go..

Alrighty, I best get to bed. I only got home an hour ago and still have a pre-lab and greek homework to do- in the morning I gotta get the kiddies ready for school. Night!

Harry Potter Numero Seven- Finally Finished!

Congrats to me- yesterday I finally finished Harry Potter and the Deathly Hollows! Almost six months after it came out..wow haha. Did not expect to finish the entire series in half a year. I was getting bored by the first half, but then it picked up! I'm so mad about the deaths of the good guys, but I suppose every war has it casualties. Plus I still have a few unanswered questions. I just want to talk to someone about it. But I bet everyones like yeah whatever, already done that. Maybe Angela, I know two days after it came out she couldn't believe I hadn't read it all. I just didn't want it all to end!

One week into school and things are going pretty well. I'm loving biology, which is probably a good thing! I'm trying to be super studious this quarter and get at least a 3.3 or something in that class (its a really hard class so I'm okay with less than a 3.5, but def above a 3.0!). My TA is really nice, and I've already seen a ton of people I know either from chem or from my FIG last year or whatever. Math is gonna be a toughie too. Thankfully I'm keeping up on homework and trying to study for the quiz, cause apparently this proff's quizzes take about 50 minutes! I know! Pretty much almost as long as a midterm! Yikes. I'm kinda nervous bout that..

I saw Children of Men and Atonement this week. Both well made films, not my faves but well made and both slightly sad. Make you think and all that deep stuff.

Alrighty, I better get going- two quizzes tomorrow~ hope the years starting out well for you guys!
